SF does U-turn on raising corporation tax

SINN FÉIN confirmed yesterday it is not in favour of raising corporation tax — a reversal of its previous policy on the issue.

The party said businesses are under extreme pressure at the moment and “you couldn’t be asking them to pay any more than they already are”.

Launching its pre-budget proposals, the party said TDs should have their salaries capped at e80,000 and take a 20% cut in travel and subsistence rates.
