Heroic mountaineer honoured at ceremony

A LIMERICK man who died shortly after becoming the first Irish person to climb K2 — the world’s most dangerous mountain — was honoured yesterday by his native county.

recognised by Limerick Co Council at a ceremony attended by members of the late mountaineer’s family.
