High hopes Daffodil Day will surpass €4.25m target

THE Irish Cancer Society is hoping yesterday’s Daffodil Day fundraising drive will surpass its €4.25 million target, despite the country’s “changed economic environment”.

High hopes Daffodil Day will surpass €4.25m target

Last year, the charity’s annual cancer fundraising day received €3.9m in donations from the public, ensuring that essential treatment, diagnosis and support services were able to operate effectively.

While the exact donation through the sale of Daffodil Day pins, the online www.plantadaff.ie awareness campaign, and further small donations from members of the public is not yet known, the charity believes that the money raised this year is likely to surpass previous targets.
