Two stabbed as drink-fuelled violence mars Cork celebrations

TWO men were stabbed, one of them suffering a punctured lung, as drink-fuelled violence marred St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Cork.

The most vicious attack occurred on the northside of the city where a young man was beaten with a golf club by two others.

When the head of the club fell off, they then stabbed him a number of times with the sharp tip.
