Thomas Corry of Aughrim, Scariff, Co Clare, was given bail on condition that he signs on daily at Killaloe Garda Station and surrendered his passport.

Gda Monica O’Reilly, of Roxboro Road Garda Station, gave evidence of arresting the accused and charging him at 3.15pm yesterday. She said he made no reply to the charge.

Corry is charged with two counts of possessing drugs for sale or supply and a further two counts of possessing drugs at Roxboro Road last Monday.

Inspector Luke Conlon told Judge Aeneas McCarthy that the state had no objection to bail under conditions set out in court.

James Nash, solicitor for the accused, said his brother Michael was accepted by the State as a bailsman. Judge McCarthy set bail on the accused’s own surety of e500 and his brother’s independent surety of e2,500.

He remanded the accused to the same court on April 15 next.
