Ned O’Keeffe seeks FF nod to run for Europe

CORK EAST TD Ned O’Keeffe is to seek the Fianna Fáil nomination to run for a European Parliament in this summer’s elections.

He will battle it out with Senator John Hanafin — brother of Minister Mary Hanafin — to run on the party ticket in the Ireland South constituency alongside sitting MEP Brian Crowley.

The three names will be announced today along with a number of other potential Fianna Fáil candidates who had until midnight last night to convince grassroots members to officially support their bid for election success on 5 June.
