A new book by Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin gives a detailed insight into the changing political landscape of the early 20th century, with a particular emphasis on his home city of Cork.

Entitled Freedom to Choose: Cork and Party Politics in Ireland 1918-1932, the book analyses how Fianna Fáil evolved as the dominant political party at a time when, electorally, votes were up for grabs.
