Strikes will follow if no talks held, says ICTU
However, in order to tempt the Government and social partners back to the negotiating table, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has said it is prepared to renegotiate the wage agreement of a 6% pay increase over 21 months, agreed in September.
In the event there is no move from the Government and employers, ICTU has empowered all unions to ballot for strike action beginning on March 30.
