K2 climber up for posthumous award

ADVENTURER Gerard McDonnell, who died on his descent from K2 last August, has been nominated posthumously for the Limerick Person of the Year Award.

The award ceremony will take place next Thursday night at the Clarion Hotel.

Now in its 11th year, the awards were set up to honour the achievements and success of local people.
