US ambassador to start new life with new wife

THE outgoing American ambassador to Ireland, Tom Foley, has announced he is beginning a new life with a new wife — and it is not with RTÉ presenter Mary Kennedy.

There were rumours last year that the pair were an item. However, on yesterday’s Gerry Ryan Show, Mr Foley said he was in fact set to marry an ex-employee of the American government.

He said he had proposed to Leslie Fahrenkopf a short time ago and she accepted.
