Garda appeal after €30k of jewellery stolen
The men entered John Ross Jewellers, on Castle Street, Tralee, at about 10.35am, and used an iron bar to smash open a glass display case containing a large amount of rings.
Having grabbed the jewellery the men ran to a waiting car a short distance away in Denny Street.
The getaway car, believed to be a dark Honda Civic with a 1993 registration, was reported stolen earlier this week in Limerick.
The car was seen in the Ballyard area, on the outskirts of Tralee soon after the robbery and was later seen heading out of Tralee in the Killarney direction.
A full-scale Garda investigation is under way and the scene was preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are also examining CCTV footage as part of their probe.
The men are understood not to have been carrying firearms. Nobody was injured in the incident, but staff in the jewellers were said to be traumatised after the experience.
No arrests were made up to last night.
The stolen goods are thought to be between €20,000 and €30,000, according to gardaí.
Gardaí have confirmed they are looking for four men and have appealed for witnesses to contact them at 066 7122022.
