Bebo tributes to dead teens

WITHIN hours of the horrific accident in Nenagh, social networking site bebo had hundreds of tributes to the three dead teenagers as well as offers of support to those who survived.

Many young people logged onto the site to comment on what had happened. The victims all seemed to feature in the “friends” lists of a large number of Nenagh teenagers’ bebo accounts.

One girl wrote on the site: “XxxX R.I.P. Adrain (sic) O’Brien, Pudge (sic) Burke and Stewie Donnellan may dey rest in peace. We all pray dat my cuz Thomas Clarke and Kelsey Tiernan make it...XxxX”

Another girl, Lisa, said: “Happy new year hardly ...R.i.p don don adrian nd podge....x.x.x.x”

There were messages of support for Kelsey Tiernan and the driver of the car, Thomas Clarke.

One friend said: “Clarke man ur a fighter we no u gonna get through dis s*** man we love u man!!!!”

Another contributor who had been speaking to someone who knew the two survivors said: “Clark nd kels r ok!x.x”

Local Labour senator Alan Kelly said: “The deaths of three teenagers is an appalling tragedy for the local community and in particular for the families involved.

“To lose a child is an unimaginable burden for any parent to bear, particularly at a time when people are looking forward with a sense of anticipation and expectation, to the coming year.”
