Appeal for witness to contact gardaí after fatal accident

GARDAÍ are appealing for a driver who witnessed an accident in which a woman in her 70s lost her life to contact them as he might possess information vital to their investigation.

Gardaí said Kathleen O’Sullivan died after she was hit by a lorry while crossing Main Street in Charleville, Co Cork on Thursday.

Superintendent Pat McCarthy, who is leading the investigation, said gardaí were alerted to the fatal accident by a man who was driving a black Volkswagen Passat.
