Retirement village opens

MOWLAM Healthcare’s new retirement village which was opened yesterday in Ennis, brings to more than 800 the number of nursing home beds it now provides in 14 centres in this country.

The new Ennis facility has been designed to create an new integrated urban community for the elderly and their neighbours.

It was opened by Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Tony Killeen.

The Páirc na Coille retirement village consists of 35 apartments and 27 houses, as well as a 60-bed nursing home.

Pat Shanahan, chairman of Mowlam Healthcare, said: “Páirc na Coille is a state-of-the-art retirement village that has been specifically designed to offer independent living, assisted living and full nursing care which offers the maximum opportunity for elderly residents to get to know and integrate in the local community.”
