A 40-KM-LONG superhighway linking Tipperary with Laois —o n the main Cork-Dublin road — is set to open on December 8, more than six months ahead of schedule.

Meanwhile, another section of motorway — from Fermoy to Mitchelstown — is several months ahead of schedule and is expected to open by the end of 2009.

Finishing touches are being put to the Cullahill-Cashel road, which has cost the National Roads Authority (NRA) €435 million.
