THE Health Service Executive has been accused of stealth cutbacks that are hurting the most vulnerable people in society.

Cllr John O’Shea, a former mayor of Co Cork, claimed the HSE had refused to provide a substitute home help cover for two women living in west Cork.

The usual home help had to undergo medical tests and was unable to attend the elderly pair.
