Pump savings: 10c on a litre

MOTORISTS can expect savings of €5 or more on an average full tank of petrol in the coming weeks following a sharp drop in the price of oil.

The price of a barrel has plummeted from a peak of $147 barrel during the summer to a little over $82 yesterday.

AA Ireland’s Conor Faughnan said consumers should reap the benefit at the petrol pumps and called on oil companies to bring prices into line with the drop.
