AN Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for a revolving advertising sign at a busy junction in Tralee because it would create a traffic hazard.

Billboard agency JC Decauz Ltd had lodged an appeal against a previous decision of Kerry County Council to refuse planning permission.

The proposed “trivision” sign — which would have been the first of its kind in Tralee — was set to replace two billboard signs at the intersection of Pembroke Street and North Circular Road. The sign was to be about 20ft above the level of a nearby car park and illuminated by an overhead spotlight.
