Vicky backs Westlife all the way

AN obsessed Westlife fan could well be singing I’ve Got You Under My Skin, following a treat she gave herself for her 40th birthday.

Vicky backs Westlife all the way

Vicky Jones loves the boy band so much that she underwent 16 hours of needlework to get pictures of the fab four tattooed across her back.

The mother-of-four may well lay claim to be the band’s biggest fan, having attended more than 300 of their concerts.

Vicky, who lives in the Cynon Valley in Wales, readily admits spending about 5,000 a year buying their records and travelling to their concerts.

The crowning glory came when band members, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan gave Vicky their autographs, which she promptly had copied and added to the tattoos.

Vicky said her children thought she was a little crazy, but she just loves the tattoos.

Her 18-year-old daughter, Stacey, said: “I’m not that keen on Westlife at all. Mum’s too obsessed if you ask me.”

Neither is Vicky’s 42-year-old husband, Colin, much of a fan.

“He can’t abide Westlife, but he doesn’t say a lot,” Vicky said.

She isn’t the first Welsh woman to think of the idea, though.

Three years ago a 32-year-old mother-of-three decided to tattoo the four lads on her back, running from her neck all the way down to the base of her spine.

Beth Evans, of Pontardawe, spent a total of 10 hours at a tattoo parlour having pictures of the band etched on her.

It took four sittings to complete the job.

Beth said she was in agony during the tattooing sessions, but has no regrets.

Unlike Vicky, however, Beth’s children think the tattoos are cool.
