Ireland ranks second worst for damaged hire cars

IRELAND and Chile are two of the worst holiday hotspots for travellers bumping their hire cars, a rental company has claimed.

A survey of the top 20 worldwide holiday destinations revealed where the highest number of hire vehicles are returned damaged.

Chile tops the poll as the country with the highest percentage of returned damaged cars at 7.7% — with more than 25 times the number of bumped and bashed vehicles than in the US, the lowest at 0.3%.
