CAO: One in four get first choice on honours courses

MORE than one in four people hoping for a place on honours bachelor degree courses have been offered their first choice course by the Central Applications Office (CAO) this morning.

With 60,529 of this year’s 68,000-plus applicants seeking entry to level 8 courses, half of the 35,000 offers for those degrees are the recipient’s first preference.

They are among 46,577 people receiving a level 8 or level 7/6 (ordinary degree or higher certificate) offer.
