Carlow and Arklow feel full force of floods

WHILE all parts of the country were affected by the torrential rainfall over the weekend, Carlow and Arklow felt the full force of the flooding.

Last night the civil defence were desperately trying to battle the rising waters as yet more rain buffeted Carlow.

Three streets were closed off in the town centre, many homes were evacuated including the 100 occupants of an apartment block.
