Talk of paying for college means parents need to start saving now

THE cost of putting a child through the education system may be about to get a lot more costly than the €60,000 which was reported last week.

It’s advisable to start saving from an early stage if you are planning on putting our child through third-level education.

“If you are planning to send your child to college next year, we’d suggest saving your money on deposit due to the relatively short term,” said the director of financial services at the Irish Broker Association, Ciaran Phelan.
