Radiological review due to be published in September
The review was prompted after it emerged late last year that a number of patients in the radiology department’s in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan had had their cancer diagnosis delayed due to an abnormality on their chest X-ray not being noted in an initial examination by a locum radiologist.
After follow-up X-rays, these patients were diagnosed with lung cancer and have all since died.
