Dingle confusion
The latest row arises from the removal of English signage directing traffic to the Dingle town centre which is damaging business, local tourism interests claimed.
Kerry Co Council has replaced “town centre” with An Lár, which is said to be causing even further confusion to tourists who don’t know the meaning of the Irish words.
Earlier this year, Minister John Gormley said bi-lingual signage would be used to point the way to Dingle/Daingean Uí Chúis but the necessary legislation has not yet been enacted.
