AIB admits some dumped files had customer details

AIB has confirmed a number of its documents dumped in a former landfill site in east Cork did contain customer names and account numbers.

The bank said it has now completed its investigation into the documents that were found during excavations for the Cork-Midleton rail line at Glounthaune. Medical files were also found at the site.

AIB said most of the documents found had already been shredded or had deteriorated to such an extent that they were illegible.
