Lisbon rejection ‘decisive’

THE rejection of the Lisbon treaty by the Irish people was “clear and decisive” Patricia McKenna of the People’s Movement told the French president.

After the round table discussion with President Nicolas Sarkozy, Ms McKenna said: “I made it very clear that there will be no second referendum. Irish people voted in unprecedented numbers after thinking long and hard about the issue.”

The former Green party MEP said: “He wants to be able to go back to his own people and say ‘well, I’ve consulted all sections of Irish society in relation to the treaty’, but he is not getting the message.”
