Statement call on FÁS budget irregularities

FINE GAEL last night called on the Government to make a “full and honest statement” about the alleged misuse of taxpayers’ money at state agency FÁS.

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny used Dáil privilege last week to highlight apparent irregularities in how FÁS had spent its €9 million advertising and PR budget.

These irregularities came to light in a 2006 internal audit report which the party recently obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
