Cowen repeats warning of cut in spending

BRIAN Cowen indicated again last night that spending cuts may be on the way.

The Taoiseach said he was prepared to take unpopular decisions in the long-term interest of the economy.

“We will do whatever is necessary to maintain the stability of the economy and safeguard as much employment as possible,” he said.
