Summers set to sizzle as global warming looms large

GLOBAL warming will lead to hotter Irish summers but our winters will be more prone to hurricanes, increased rain and frequent flooding, according to a scientific report into Irish climate change in the 21st century.

The new study shows that temperatures during the summer and autumn look set to rise by 3-4 degrees.

Warmer World: Scientific Predictions of the Irish Climate in the 21st Century predicts that autumn and winter seasons will become wetter, with rain increasing by 15-25% by the end of the century.
