Mitchell calls for ban on taxi ads

IT was one of the more unusual interventions in the Lisbon campaign to date.

Fine Gael TD Olivia Mitchell, who supports a Yes vote, has called for a ban on taxis displaying stickers bearing political slogans.

Angry at the placement of “No to Lisbon” stickers on taxis and hackneys, she claimed, as public service vehicles, they should not be used for electioneering.
