Crash injury claim referred to Supreme Court

AN ORDER for compensation to be paid to a woman injured while she was sitting in the back of a van has been referred to the Supreme Court.

The Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland has lodged papers appealing a ruling made by the High Court in January.

Mr Justice George Birmingham said Elaine Farrell was entitled to make a claim against the Bureau for the injuries she suffered in the accident in 1996.
