A LIMERICK mother was last night fighting for her life after a house fire in Jersey which claimed the life of her daughter.

Daphne Quinn, 34, originally from Whitethorn Drive, Caherdavin, was trapped in the house with Lilly May, 3, when the fire broke out at around 4am on Wednesday. Lilly May died on Wednesday night and Daphne is critical. Ms Quinn has been living in Jersey for the past eight years and works with a government department.

Her parents, Tom and Mary Quinn have flown out to Jersey with their sons, Barry, John and Thomas and daughter, Stephanie.
