Two charged as stabbing inquiry continues

TWO teenagers were arrested and charged with public order offences arising out of an investigation of serious stabbings in woodlands at Blarney, Co Cork.

Two  charged as stabbing inquiry continues

Judge Con O’Leary was told at Cork District Court yesterday where the two teenagers appeared that it was anticipated that further serious charges would follow.

One of the youths cannot be identified as he is 16 years old and his identity is legally protected as he is deemed a juvenile. His co-accused is Fintan Murphy, aged 19, of 22 Beech Tree Avenue, Shanakiel, Cork. Murphy is charged with engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to give rise to a breach of the peace. He is also charged with obstructing Garda Dave Ahern.
