GARDAÍ confirmed last night that they are “not looking for anyone else” in relation to the shooting of a well-known GAA referee in west Waterford on Sunday.

The possibility of 50-year-old John Michael Kelly, from Knockanore near Tallow, shooting himself accidentally at about 1pm on Sunday is being examined by investigators.

The inquiry is being downgraded and gardaí are not treating the matter as suspicious. Members of the investigation team spoke to him in hospital last night and, afterwards, news that nobody else is being sought as a result of the shooting was confirmed.
