Husband of Meg Walsh on trial for her murder

THE trial of a Waterford bus driver accused of his wife’s murder is due to get under way at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin today.

John O’Brien, 43, of Dunavarra, Ballinakill Downs, Waterford, is charged with the murder of his wife, Meg Walsh, in the city more than 18 months ago.

Ms Walsh, who came originally from Killavullen, Fermoy, Co Cork, disappeared from her home on October 1, 2006. She was last seen driving her 01-registered silver Mitsubishi car near her home on the night of her disappearance.
