HEALTH Minister Mary Harney rebutted calls by Labour for her to step aside yesterday, insisting she would not be “derailed” from her reform of the health sector.

Ms Harney was responding to a suggestion by Labour leader Eamon Gilmore over the weekend that she had been “spectacularly unsuccessful” at her job in health.

The outgoing Progressive Democrats leader stood her ground yesterday saying she had a close working relationship with the taoiseach-in-waiting, Brian Cowen.
