Greens and PDs let Ahern tell ‘tissue of lies’

GREEN and PD leaders are letting Bertie Ahern tell a “tissue of lies” about what went on at his St Luke’s “money factory”, Fine Gael last night claimed.

In one of the most aggressive attacks yet on the Taoiseach’s tribunal evidence, FG environment spokesman Phil Hogan called on the Coalition partners to force Mr Ahern’s resignation.

The Greens hit back strongly saying they had faith in the Mahon investigation and such comments risked prejudicing its proceedings.
