PHARMACY workers are being used as pawns by their employers to advance their dispute with the Health Service Executive, the Mandate union claimed yesterday.

Mandate assistant general secretary Gerry Light said it had also become apparent that some employers were using the dispute to advance industrial relations agendas around deferring pay increases and job losses.

“It appears to us, that in some instances, workers’ interests have been used as a pawn in a dispute which has not been of our making,” he said.
