Five brides-to-be make pitch for dream wedding
The lucrative wedding pot will cover the cost of a fabulous honeymoon, the wedding band, a professionally-dressed reception room, a designer dress and the many other little flourishes that add up to an expensive wedding day.
The competition, organised by the Wedding Journal, was run over a series of shows where budding brides entered a special pod to pitch for the prize.
In the custom-designed Big Bridal Diary Room, brides-to-be travelled to shows in Dublin, Cork and Belfast explaining by way of a two-minute video entry why they should win this incredible prize.
Wedding Journal show director Wynn Penton was one of the judges tasked with selecting 10 finalists.
“There was a phenomenal amount of entries to the competition and we had a tough time narrowing down the finalists. The entries were all very entertaining and showcased a lot of Ireland’s hidden talents,” Ms Penton said.
“We had singing, acting and poems specially written for the entries and I was extremely impressed by efforts that these brides and their grooms went to in order to make their dreams come true.”
The Irish finalists include Kerry Horrigan and Anne-Marie Smith, both from South Dublin, Karen Lunney from Swords, Marie Holohan from Tipperary and Rose Fleming from Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
The public will decide on the worthiest winner by way of voting on weddingjournalonline.com.
The closing date is Friday, March 21, at noon.
The winner can expect to enjoy a fabulous honeymoon courtesy of Joe Walsh Tours; a stunning dress from Blush, Belfast or Myrtle Ivory, Dublin; a Clarins beauty package; a hair package from Stephen International, Lurgan, flowers by Reids Flowers, photography by Finnlmaje, wedding cake from Cakes & Co, Dublin or Cakeworks, Bangor, stationery by Daintree, wedding bands from Jack Murphy Jewellers, Newry, groomswear by Hire Class, a pampering package at Seafield Golf & Spa Hotel, and Tipperary Crystal.
