Gold rush begins for €15m Lotto jackpot

LOTTO machines will be in overdrive today as thousands attempt to win the country’s second- largest payout.

The jackpot prize has not been won since January 26, meaning that, after 11 rollovers, tonight’s prize of €15 million is the largest since the €16m won by the Cunningham family from Cork last year.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said: “We expect there will be record ticket sales, with every household in Ireland expected to have a ticket for the draw.”
