Ahern: Unemployment will increase

FURTHER jobs will be lost this year and the next budget could also be affected because of the continuing economic slowdown, the Taoiseach admitted yesterday.

“This year was always going to be a difficult year,” Mr Ahern told the Dáil.

“It is a year for tight and close management of the economy and for watching expenditure.”
