School links up with institute

A NEW link between Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) and secondary schools under the control of the Limerick City Vocational Education Committee (VEC) was announced yesterday.

Secondary students in the VEC schools will get additional bonus points if they aim for certain courses offered at LIT which are under-subscribed.

Dr Maria Hinfelaar, director of LIT, said: “More and more students are coming to LIT from backgrounds other than the traditional Leaving Cert and they blend in very well.”
