‘Scissor Sister’ appeal date set

THE Court of Criminal Appeal has fixed March 11 next to hear the appeal by Charlotte Mulhall against her conviction for the murder of her mother’s boyfriend, whose body was cut up and parts dumped in the Royal Canal in Dublin.

‘Scissor Sister’ appeal date set

Charlotte Mulhall, aged 25, of Kilclare Heights, Tallaght, was convicted in October 2006 of the murder of Farah Swaleh Noor on March 20, 2005, at the home of her mother Kathleen Mulhall in Summerhill, Dublin.

Her sister, Linda, was found guilty of manslaughter and jailed for 15 years.

Earlier this month, the CCA ruled the Central Criminal Court erred in imposing that sentence without having seen probation and psychiatric reports on Linda Mulhall. The CCA said it will consider the reports before deciding on the appropriate sentence.

When Charlotte Mulhall’s case was mentioned before the CCA yesterday, the court was told consideration was being given to whether further grounds of appeal may be advanced.

The CCA fixed March 11 as the date for the appeal.
