THE Taoiseach will today try to convince the trade union movement that the Government is committed to social partnership and to the rights of all people working in the country today.

Bertie Ahern and Tánaiste Brian Cowen will address both trade union and business representatives for 30 minutes on what has been achieved under Towards 2016, as well as their vision for the new social partnership agreement.

They will then field what are likely to be very varied responses from the constituent parties.
