“I’ve gone from being a ringmaster to just someone in the audience and it’s not quite unsettling but a difficult place to be,” the 52-year-old fitness instructor said in the first of a six-part TV3 series documenting the lives of people living with cancer.

One of 12 patients to feature in the series entitled Me and the Big C, Kate’s televised journey takes us through scans, to surgery, to diagnosis of a malignant tumour right up to her last day of chemotherapy.
