Waterford and south-east bid to create ‘regional innovation hub’
This would be a hub where all the various agencies — including local authorities, research centres, third level colleges and employers — work together as a team to foster jobs and growth.
The new cluster would see greater co-operation between third level, research centres, local and regional authorities as well as multi-nationals, indigenous enterprise and support agencies such as Enterprise Ireland and the IDA, according to project leader Dr Bill O’Gorman, who is head of research at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Waterford Institute of Technology.
