THE mother of a young autistic boy wept outside the Four Courts yesterday after the High Court issued a ruling that could force her to sell their family home to meet a legal bill estimated at more than €2 million.

Yvonne Ó Cuanacháin, from Wicklow, wondered how she and her husband Cian would pay the multi- million-euro costs of their failed High Court action to obtain funding for a special form of education for their seven-year-old son Seán.

“The situation is deeply unfair. We’re devastated because the future for Seán is very bleak at the moment,” said Ms Ó Cuanacháin.
