‘Bundoran booming, not tacky’

BUNDORAN councillor Sean McEniff takes great umbrage at the description of his beloved town as “one of Ireland’s tackiest holiday resorts” and he believes the author who wrote about Bundoran never actually visited the town.

‘Bundoran booming, not tacky’

“I am looking forward to taking it up with them,” he said. “As far as I am concerned the town is booming. We had an 18% increase in tourism revenue in the town this year. It is going from strength to strength despite what was written last year.

“They say it is a great place for surfers but there is more than surfers coming here because surfers do not spend very much — yet the revenue is up. There is more and more accommodation coming online every year, people are not afraid to invest,” said Mr McEniff.
