THE Green Party remains split over the EU reform treaty, and its members will campaign both for a Yes and No vote in the referendum later this year.

At a special convention over the weekend, the Green leadership failed to secure the required two-thirds support for a motion committing the party to support the treaty.

As a result, the party will take no official position on the treaty, and its members will be free to support either side. The Labour Party last night claimed the Greens were jeopardising the ratification of the treaty by allowing such an approach.
